Summer Session
June 7 - July 9, 2010

Wesleyan University offers an intensive Summer Session in which students can complete semester-long courses in five weeks.  Twenty-five courses, taught by Wesleyan faculty, will be offered during the 2010 Summer Session.  These courses include some highly popular courses that always have more interested students than space during the regular academic year, as well as some new and advanced courses, and some new thematic institutes.

Wesleyan Summer Session is open to all students who feel they have the academic qualifications and stamina to complete an intellectually challenging course in a compressed schedule.

To round out this five-week intensive academic experience, Wesleyan Summer session will offer an assortment of activities outside the classroom. Many on-campus social and cultural activities are in the the works, including special themed picnics, performances, movies, Wii and pool tournaments, and more. Downtown Middletown, only two blocks from campus, boasts a wide and eclectic array of restaurants, coffeehouses and boutiques, as well as a 12-screen cinema. For those looking to explore further off campus, Wadsworth Falls State Park is within walking distance and offers hiking and biking trails. A 15-minute drive brings one to Miller's Pond for a refreshing swim, or to Lyman Orchard, family farm dating back to 1741, and featuring a wide variety of pick-your-own summer fruits. Students can also take advantage of the free outdoor concerts, farmer's markets, fairs and other summer events in the area.
