Valerie Nazzaro

Valerie Nazzaro is a statistician in the Quantitative Analysis Center where she teaches courses in applied data analysis and provides statistical consulting to students and faculty.

Valerie Nazzaro began her career as a high school math teacher prior to earning her PhD in statistics from the University of Connecticut. Since then, she has been involved in many interdisciplinary projects with researchers from a vast array of fields, including agriculture, pharmacy, nutrition, and public health. Her post doctoral position with the Center for Health Intervention and Prevention aimed to improve techniques for analyzing data pertaining to at-risk populations of AIDS/HIV in South Africa, where missing data is particularly prevalent. She is very excited to continue to provide statistical support to these important studies and to collaborate with researchers from other fields as well.
