Graduate Programs and Online Programs at Wesleyan

  • Graduate Studies

    Wesleyan offers Graduate Studies programs leading to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Arts (MA) degrees, as well as some non-degree graduate study options.  The PhD and MA degrees are offered in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Music (Ethnomusicology), and Physics, and the MA degree is also offered in Astronomy, Computer Science, and Earth and Environmental Sciences.

    Wesleyan’s Graduate Studies programs are full-time and do not include online course options.

  • Graduate Liberal Studies

    Wesleyan offers a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) and a Master of Philosophy in Liberal Arts (MPhil), as well as a Graduate Certificate in Writing and non-degree graduate study in the liberal arts. Courses are offered in visual arts, art history, creative and professional writing, literature, history, mathematics, film, government, education, biology, psychology, astronomy, and more.

    Graduate Liberal Studies Blended Learning

    Wesleyan's Graduate Liberal Studies program offers blended learning courses, which allow students to complete a certain percentage of class hours through online learning.

  • Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance

    The Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance (ICPP), the first institute of its kind, is a center for the academic study of the presentation and contextualization of contemporary performance.  It offers a Master of Arts in Performance Curation (MA).
