We all have a part to play in Renewing Democracy’s Promise. Now you can choose yours. When you reach out, you can take part in Democracy250’s midterm election support in capacities ranging from recruitment and training of student workers for election support to fundraising that fuels our programs and communications efforts that spread our message. You can also learn how to lead civic engagement in your community and teach others how to facilitate meaningful conversation across differences that de-escalate hostility, promote civility, and enable peaceful, democratic participation, regardless of beliefs.
Turn Conversation Into Action
Explore new perspectives and broaden your worldview to strengthen our freedoms. Wesleyan's Conversation to Action Fellowship, in partnership with Urban Rural Action, brings University students and the Middletown, CT, community together in a year-long cohort to work across lines of difference that range from politics and race, to religion, age, and more. Between November 2026 and May 2027, participants will explore key issues and work together with local community organizations, to identify and tackle urgent community challenges.
Fund Your Student Project
Wesleyan students can strenghthen democracy out in the field, right where it happens, with financial support. Awarded by the Jewett Center for Community Partnerships, the Political Engagement Fund provides grants to students doing projects and internships that bolster voter registration, issues advocacy, and local and national political campaigns.
Share Your Knowledge
There is no one right way to strengthen democracy, except together. As our nationwide network grows, we welcome our partners to pool the effective knowledge and techniques for educating, exciting, and mobilizing the civic minded in support of shared freedoms.
