Wesleyan’s Jewish Alumni Network (JAN) is excited to invite you to join the inaugural Season of Shabbat this fall! 

This new series of alumni-led gatherings is a wonderful opportunity to come together across the country in the spirit of Shabbat, reconnect with the Wesleyan Jewish community and beyond, and welcome new connections around the table. 

Over the course of three weekends, Shabbat gatherings will take place in cities across multiple regions. Explore the upcoming Season of Shabbat gatherings and register to attend an event near you:  

Sunday, October 4

  • Bay Area Shabbat at a Jewish Urban Farm

    Friday, October 23, 2026
    6:30-8:30 p.m. PST
    Hosted by Sarah Tunik ’92, P’21

    Join Wesleyan JAN at a local East Bay Jewish farm for a Shabbat featuring song, poetry, movement and silence as we journey together from our week of doing into our day of being. Light food and drinks follow Kabbalat Shabbat, with indoor and outdoor dining options available.

  • Chicago Area Kosher Shabbat in Glencoe

    Join Robert Milner ’71 for a warm and welcoming Kosher Shabbat dinner in Glencoe, Illinois. Gather with fellow Wesleyan alumni for an evening of good food, conversation and community.

  • Boston Area Shabbat Service in Brookline

    Please join our reform, inclusive and vibrant Jewish community located in Brookline, MA for Friday night Shabbat Services. There are a number of Wesleyan alumni and parents who are active members of the community and serve on the Board. We look forward to hosting other area alumni for a Shabbat service with our wonderful female Clergy. Services always include music and singing, a balance of Hebrew and English in a welcoming environment. There will be plenty of time to mingle over wine, cheese and other nibbles with fellow alumni at the casual oneg to follow.

    Join four Wesleyan alumni host families–Wendy Liebow & Scott Burson '74, Rachel Hayes '75, Elizabeth (Li) Nilson '88, Michael Leviton '88, and their spouses-for a relaxed Shabbat dinner. While our hosts follow Reform practice, all traditions are warmly welcomed. Pescatarian and vegetarian options available with advance notice (2 week, please). Nice wine, delicious food, and great conversation!

    Join Risa Korn ’75 for an intimate and relaxed Shabbat dinner in good company. The meal will feature fish as the main course, along with a selection of vegetarian and dairy sides.
    Gluten-free and dairy-free accommodations can also be provided upon request.
