WesCreatives Week in NYC returns October 4–10, 2026! This annual event series highlights creative works, recommendations, and professional panels featuring alumni and faculty in entertainment and design. This year’s robust lineup weaves together community-submitted offerings alongside university-sponsored programming for an unforgettable week.

Art, Climate and Urban Futures
Art Making Workshop & Conversation
1–4 p.m.
Join us at the Climate Imaginarium on Governors Island for interactive art making and conversation, inviting attendees to bring climate storytelling to life. This event will feature inspiring talks from Joshua Nodiff ’19 (Founder & Executive Director, Climate Imaginarium), Justin Campos ’19 (Policy Analyst, NYC Council), Ariel Adler ’20 (Development Coordinator, Likely Story film production) and Christopher Swain ’90 (Founder, Alliance for the Living World), who swam the entire length of the Hudson River for clean water and universal human rights. Additionally attendees will be invited to join a curator-led gallery tour and participate in a Climate Cafe NYC conversation.

Breaking into the Literary World
Alumni Panel Discussion

Join alumni Nicholas During ’03, publicity manager at the New York Review of Books, Oliver Egger ’23, editorial assistant at The Yale Review, and Sylvie Pingeon ’25, publicity assistant at New Directions Publishing, for an engaging conversation on breaking into the literary world. Panelists will share their distinct professional journeys, offering practical insight on pitching, publishing, and navigating modern creative industries.

WesCreatives Reception at The Players

Step inside The Players—Gramercy Park’s legendary club for artists and patrons of the arts—for an unforgettable evening with the WesCreatives community! Hosted by Carter Bays ’97 (co-creator of How I Met Your Mother), this special reception is your chance to raise a glass, connect with fellow alumni creators, and celebrate Wesleyan’s vibrant artistic network in an iconic setting. Beverages and refreshments served.

Workshop for Reception Attendees

For those joining the WesCreatives reception at The Players detailed above, kick-off your evening with an exclusive 30-minute workshop led by three-time Tony-nominated producer Cynthia J. Tong ’14 (Just in Time, Gypsy, Ragtime). Cynthia will share practical, low-friction strategies to help you strengthen authentic, high-impact relationships across the arts—from fellow creators to potential donors and investors. Register for the reception and show up at 6 p.m. for this special workshop.

Beyond the Stardust

Beyond the Stardust is a radical and revelrous live-album experience. Featuring 12 original songs, stunning visuals, and a host of nightlife’s most enchanting aerialists, dancers, go-go boys, girls and they/thems. Beyond the Stardust is an Afro-disco-space-punk-extravaganza of futurist fabulousness, inviting audiences into inter-cosmic dance floor liberation. Alfredo Jaar: A Logo for America at Galerie Lelong
Thursday, September 10–Saturday, October 24
A Logo for America is a solo exhibition by Alfredo Jaar which examines the origins and enduring impact of Jaar’s foundational public-installation of the same name. Originally conceived in 1987 for the Public Art Fund as an animation for a billboard in New York’s Times Square, this work critiques the common usage of “America” to refer to the United States, highlighting the erasure of the rest of the continent. Katherine Chan ’95 serves as Director at Galerie Lelong.

FISH
Saturday, September 26 – Sunday, October 25
Emily Chackerian ’20 serves on the producing team for this new play, with set design by Emmie Finckel ’14. Fish is a darkly comedic coming-of-age story about grief, girlhood and games that go too far. Fish is written by Melis Aker, directed by Tatiana Pandiani and co-produced by WP Theater and Signature Theatre.

Fifth Annual Breaking the Binary Theatre Festival
Monday, October 5 – Sunday, October 11
Breaking the Binary Theatre is a new work development and community building hub wherein transgender, non-binary, and Two-Spirit+ (TNB2S+) artists come together to reclaim their artistic license and liberty. Esme Ng ’22 serves as the Festival Producer. Ticketing information to be published in early September.

The Other “Mr. B.” How Buddy Bradley’s Dance Genius Transformed Ballet Movement
Monday, October 5
Nearly every famous name in dance in the mid-twentieth century was touched by the innovative, often groundbreaking work of jazz dancer and choreographer Buddy Bradley. Here, with a panel including tap, jazz, and ballet dancers, the subject of how one art form can significantly influence another will be discussed and demonstrated, live at the Library for the Performing Arts. Roberta Pereira ’03 serves as the executive director at the Library for the Performing Arts.

Martha’s Influence... “The Effect of the Necessity”... Hers & Mine
Wednesday, October 7
In an effort to understand the ways an artist of today makes their way, Lloyd Knight goes back in time to discover what might have driven Martha Graham to push her artistry. With spoken word, visual diagrams, and dance, Knight, a dancer well versed in Graham’s work, attempts to understand why he does what he does in his career and why Graham’s life has had an effect on his professional being and belief. Join this online session from the Library for the Performing Arts, for which Roberta Pereira ’03 serves as executive director.

Moving Rasa Discovery Potluck Night

Come share food, bring a question or curiosity you’re carrying, and see what you discover. Moving Rasa, founded by Andrew Suseno ’01, is a movement-based creative practice exploring how we relate to ourselves, one another, place, questions, and the living world. Discovery Potluck Nights bring those explorations into a communal setting: we eat together, witness performance, move, play, and follow what emerges.

Martha Graham: The Mother of Psychological Dance Gallery Tour
Saturday, October 10
Discover the history of Martha Graham and her dance company in a free, guided tour of our exhibition, Martha Graham: The Mother of Psychological Dance, on view at the Library for the Performing Arts. The staff-led tour highlights the legacy of Graham and her dance technique, as well as the company, which is the oldest continuously operating dance company in the United States. Robert Pereira ’03 serves at the executive director at the Library for the Performing Arts.
