Clothes/Grieve

Lisa Cohen • Wesleyan University

May 10th @ 6 P.M.
Zoom Conference: https://wesleyan.zoom.us/j/98396636283

A reading from a text and photo project about the clothes of the dead, this talk asks: How do clothes hold the bodies of those we have lost and our memories of them? What does it look, feel, sound, and smell like to re-encounter these sartorial remnants? A series of meditations on encounters with people who have shared such charged, cherished, lost, or neglected clothes, the talk is an attempt at finding a way between words and clothes, at documenting lived experiences of clothing in new ways, as part of Cohen's ongoing experiments with biographical writing.
