Latine Affirmation Month
Every year, the Wesleyan community comes together to celebrate Latine Affirmation Month in October with a variety of events, initatives, performances, and celebrations. Please come out and support as many of the great events listed below as you are able!

LAM Kick-Off

Event Description: (attendance open to the public) Latine Affirmation Month is a time to celebrate and learn about Latin American identity, honor heritage, and strengthen community and your presence makes it even more meaningful. This event is open to all of campus (faculty, staff, students, and alumni) to celebrate the start of Latine Affirmation Month at Wes!
Latin Game Night
Event Time and Date: Friday, October 2nd from 4:30pm - 7:30pm
Event Location/Zoom Information: Eclectic (200 High Street)
Event Organizers: Caribbean Student Association (CSA), Latin American Student Organization (LASO), and The Resource Center
Event Description: (attendance open to Wesleyan students only) This event showcases a variety of games enjoyed in various latin countries. Students are welcome to join us to learn about and enjoy a spread of Dominican, Colombian and Mexican empanadas. A presentation will follow to feature how empanadas are prepared and their cultural significance in the first hour of the event!
LAM Formal

Event Description: (attendance open to Wesleyan students only) This event will honor and celebrate the diverse expressions of Latinidad across our community, featuring an evening of Latin music, food, and cultural appreciation.
Canvassing the Caribbean
Event Time and Date: Wednesday, October 14th from 5:00pm - 7:00pm

Event Description: (attendance open to Wesleyan students only) An event for students to gather and paint based on specific prompts related to Latine-Caribbean identity. There will also be free empanadas.
The Lace & Ribbon Trenzas Workshop
