Public speaking is something that freaks out most human beings – sweaty palms, shaky knees, the stuff of nightmares. We have all found ourselves on the other side of a public address, bored out of our minds, listening to a speaker drone on. But public speaking doesn’t have to be terrifying or dull. In this masterclass, we’ll tackle the challenge of speaking in public: finding a topic, building credibility, writing to engage an audience, and what to do about the nerves that come from standing in front of other people. At the end of the class, each student will deliver a 3-5 minute talk (standing ovations only). The class will be taught by Corey Hajim, a writer, story editor, and speaking coach who spent seven years at TED, curating hundreds of talks for the mainstage.
