How is the Global Economic Order Changing, and Who Writes the Rules?
As energy transitions accelerate, supply chains fragment, artificial intelligence reshapes work, and geopolitical rivalries intensify, the post-Cold War order is giving way to something more contested. That shifting landscape is the focus of The New Global Economic Order, this year’s Shasha Seminar for Human Concerns.
Join us for two days centered on conversations that look beyond simply cataloging crises. How are the costs, risks, and promises of transition distributed within and across societies? How are trade and industrial policies being reshaped? How is state capacity being rebuilt? Who designs the new rules for energy, trade, technology, and development—and who remains locked into inherited vulnerabilities? Where do new hierarchies emerge? And what alternative pathways remain open in a world increasingly organized around rivalry rather than cooperation?
