Curiosity Is Ageless
Friends: Once again, Wesleyan’s Institute for Lifelong Learning is offering a diversified course lineup under the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. While we all look forward to the day when this scourge is behind us, WILL remains committed to the idea that even under stressful conditions intellectual stimulation is essential to our ongoing health and sense of well-being. Whether you are interested in European history, creative writing, fine art, architecture, the natural world, or emotional and spiritual growth, WILL has a course for you.
Under the banner of “Embracing the Great Outdoors,” we are scheduling some late-spring courses designed to let us emerge from social isolation, to enjoy sunshine and fair skies as we explore Connecticut’s richly diverse cultural landscape. All relevant health and safety precautions will be observed. We are, of course, hoping for signs of relief in the daily COVID numbers, but are well aware that we cannot predict how the situation will evolve. The programmatic offerings of the WILL program will respond appropriately to changing circumstances, treating your safety, and that of our faculty and staff, as paramount.
So, join us in this next phase of the adventure, recognizing that every crisis brings opportunities. Your choice to participate in the WILL program in these difficult times represents a commitment on your part to keeping mind, body and spirit wholly engaged in this beautiful, fragile world we all share.
My Best,
Richard J. Friswell, MEd, MPhil
