Welcome to Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)!
CAPS provides comprehensive short-term mental health services through multidisciplinary integration with Davison Health Center and WesWell. Students who utilize our psychotherapy services may discuss in confidence any worries, distressing feelings, or difficult situations they are currently experiencing. Our goal is to assist students as they navigate through life's challenges within the context of a highly rigorous and demanding academic environment.
On this site you will find valuable resources for students, faculty and staff, including information on how to schedule an appointment with a counselor, how to get help in an emergency, and useful resources on various mental health topics.

After Hours On-Call Reminder:
The after-hours on-call system (860-685-2910) is in place to assist students with urgent concerns that cannot wait until the following day. Please DO NOT use the on-call after business hours to cancel or make an appointment. Please call 860-685-3143 and leave a message to make or cancel your appointment or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Medication Support Update:
Attention students: our psychiatric APRN, Katina Varzos, has left Wesleyan to pursue a full-time employment opportunity, and we currently have a search underway for a new prescriber. At this time, CAPS is not able to provide prescription services. Follow this link to our updated list of community prescribers.
You may wish to schedule a consultation appointment with your clinician if you need assistance finding a prescriber in the community. We can also offer assistance with navigating the process of filing health insurance claim forms for appointments with community prescribers who do not bill insurance. If you need transportation to medical appointments off campus, please contact the Davison Health Center at 860.685.2470 for assistance.
Please be aware that Davison Health Center (DHC) will not be able to refill your CAPS prescription. While we hope to hire a new prescriber quickly, you should be prepared to make alternate arrangements for medication for the fall semester.
We understand that Ms. Varzos’ departure will create some challenges for all of us this fall and we will work hard to hire a new psychiatric APRN. Please do not hesitate to meet with your clinician, and we will offer whatever assistance we can in finding an interim prescriber.
