McNair Program
McNair Program

This summer's program will take place from May 27th to July 31st, 2015 on the Wesleyan University campus.

12 Wesleyan rising senior and junior students will reside on campus and receive stipends to conduct research with Faculty Mentors in a wide variety of academic disciplines.

The 10-week McNair Summer Research Program also fosters an atmosphere for personal and social enrichment.

Research is coupled with opportunities to:

  •  Visit graduate schools.
  •  Attend the New England McNair Conference at UCONN and/or the UC Berkley McNair Symposium.
  •  Attend GRE preparation classes.
  •  Learn from experts on how to plan professional careers, investigate graduate fellowships and manage personal finances.
  •  Seminars are offered on utilizing academic research database materials, scientific writing skils, effective presentation skils, writing personal statement and graduate school admissions process.
  •  Fellows develop research hypotheses and share findings in meetings with faculty and peers. Many students  continue the summer research as their senior thesis project.

The program culminates with Fellows presenting their summer research work at the New England McNair Conference and Wesleyan's campus-wide poster session.

Updates and photos will be added to our web site as Summer 2015 progresses.
