SUMMER 2013 Mc NAIR PROGRAM
This summer's program will take place from May 28th to August 3rd, 2013 on the Wesleyan University campus.
17 Wesleyan rising senior and junior students will reside on campus and receive stipends to conduct research with Faculty Mentors in a wide variety of academic disciplines.
The 10-week McNair Research Fellow program also fosters an atmosphere for personal and social enrichment.
Research is coupled with opportunities to:
+ Visit graduate schools at Columbia, Brown, New Hampshire, Buffalo and Tufts Universities.
+ Attend GRE preparation classes.
+ Learn from experts on how to plan professional careers, investigate graduate fellowships, optimize learning styles and manage personal finances.
+ Seminars are offered on utilizing academic research database materials and graduate financial aid services.
+ Fellows develop research hypotheses and share findings in meetings with faculty and peers. Many students continue the summer research as their senior thesis project.
The program culminates with Fellows presenting their summer research work in a dinner symposium and/or campus-wide poster session.
Updates and photos will be added to our web site as Summer 2013 progresses.
