Michael James Perez

 

Michael Perez is a social/cultural psychologist, whose research line integrates cultural-psychological and Critical Race Theory (CRT) frameworks to study racism and intergroup relations. His research focuses on intergroup relations within the domain of United States racism, accounting for structural, racial inequality in the context of race relations. His current research lines investigate intergroup apologies for racism, intergroup forgiveness with considerations to systems of racial inequality, the influence of critical histories on protest for racial justice, and how systemic racism shapes our perceptions and philosophies of peace and victimization.

Dr. Perez received his B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Arlington, Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Texas A&M University.
