Olga Sendra Ferrer

Sendra Ferrer’s main area of interest is modern iberian literature and culture. Her research and teaching focus on the intersections of photography, literature, urbanism, and architecture in Spain during the Franco dictatorship, and how these interactions evolve during the 20th and 21st centuries. Her articles on these topics have been published in Catalan Review, Journal of Catalan StudiesArizona Journal of Hispanic Cultural Studies, Fashioning Spain, and Divergencias. Sendra Ferrer’s first book, Barcelona, City of Margins (University of Toronto Press, 2022) delves into dissent and the urban (re)construction of dictatorship-era Barcelona in literature and photography from 1950- 1970. Her current book project, with the tentative title The Defiant Gaze, deals with the presence of noise in photography.
