Pheeroan akLaff directs a performance by students in Music 459 “Materials and Principles of Jazz Improvisation I.” The group will play selected tunes by Mr. akLaff and Jerome Harris, Wayne Shorter, Horace Silver, and Hale Smith; as well as student compositions inspired by the current exhibition in the Ezra and Cecile Zilkha Gallery, A World of Dreams: New Landscape Paintings by Tula Telfair.
