Featuring master drummer and Visiting Artist in Residence in Music Attah Poku and choreographer and Wesleyan Artist in Residence Iddi Saaka, joined by their students and guest artists and drummers, this invigorating performance showcases the vibrancy of West African cultures through their traditional music and dance forms.

On March 6, 2017 Ghana celebrated their 60th anniversary of independence from British colonial rule. This special concert is in honor of that anniversary, including a procession of students dressed as Ghanaian chiefs and queen mothers, a Wesleyan band that will play live Ghanaian highlife music, live choral music by a Ghanaian church based in Worcester, Massachusetts, and a reception with an assortment of Ghanaian dishes immediately following the concert.
