Wesleyan’s Chinese Music Ensemble, under the direction of Joy Lu, presents a virtual concert, featuring a variety of Chinese music derived from traditional and contemporary works. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this spring’s smaller ensemble highlights string instruments instead of wind and percussion instruments.

The Chinese Music Ensemble includes director, conductor, and graduate music student Joy Lu on erhu (two-stringed bowed musical instrument), zhongruan and daruan (plucked string instruments); Justin Antoine '21 on daruan, Elisa Chi '21 on guzheng (plucked string instrument), Trevor Dalton '22 on erhu, Yuhsuan Liu '22 on zhongruan, Christina Lu '22 on xiaoruan (plucked string instrument) and woodblocks, Sophia Song '21 on zhongruan, Jess Tran '21 on zhongruan, Cambria Weaver '22 on erhu, Queenie Xie '23 on zhonghu (bowed string instrument), graduate student Zhenyao Yang on erhu, Xiaohan Zhan '21 on erhu and pipa (plucked string instrument), and Adele Zhou '21 on sanxian and guqin (stringed instruments).
