Mohi Baha'ud-din Dagar is an exponent of the rudraveena, a large plucked-string instrument used in North Indian classical music. Dagar specializes in the genre dhrupad, the oldest vocal tradition of India, and will present a lecture and demonstration of the rudraveena during the Music Department Colloquium at the start of the 49th anniversary Navaratri Festival at Wesleyan.

Co-presented with FourOneOne, a New York-based nonprofit organization supporting historically aware and rooted performance practices that blur the dominant aesthetic and social categories that marginalize communities and their creative lives.
