Dear Families and Friends of the Class of 2026,

It’s hard to believe we are entering the final semester for the Class of 2026!

I hope your student enjoyed the break and had time to rest and recharge before returning to campus. Housing opens on Sunday, January 18, and spring classes begin on Thursday, January 22.

By this point, your student should be familiar with their degree requirements and what they need to do to remain on track for graduation. Each senior will receive an email from me that includes their credit analysis, which provides a detailed overview of their progress toward degree completion. If your student has any questions about their ability to graduate, please encourage them to schedule an appointment with me.

Throughout the semester, I will be communicating directly with your student with reminders and important information related to graduation and commencement. I encourage you to remind your student to check their email regularly and to pay close attention to all communications regarding graduation requirements and commencement planning.

Commencement will take place on Sunday, May 24. No tickets or reservations are required, and seating is unlimited and available on a first come, first served basis. Guests who would like preferred seating are encouraged to arrive early. Please note that in the event of rain, the ceremony may be abbreviated and seating under the tent will be limited. Additional information about commencement can be found on the Reunion and Commencement webpage, which will be updated as details become available.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Best,
Shelissa Newball
Dean for the Class of 2026
