    The special assistant to the president provides operational and administrative support to the president. In addition to managing the office staff, the president’s calendar and correspondence, the special assistant staffs the Governance Committee of the Board of Trustees and works closely with the chair of the Board of Trustees, the president, and the president’s cabinet to plan and execute Board of Trustee meetings.

    Biography
    Prior to joining Wesleyan and the Office of the President in 2012, Heather Brooke worked for the Yale-China Association, BIC, and White Mountains Re. She began her college education at the University of Connecticut at Storrs and is continuing her studies at Wesleyan through the Bachelor of Liberal Studies program.

    The office assistant provides administrative support to the Office of the President, including support for classes taught by the president and coordinating the financial reporting and budgeting for the office.

    Biography
    Prior to beginning her career at Wesleyan in 2019, Dina Burghardt worked in veterinary medicine for 13 years, acting as a technician for eight years and as a front desk manager and office assistant for five years. Dina graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in biology.

    The chief of staff and director of strategic planning contributes to strategic discussions and planning, works in concert with members of the senior leadership team, serves as a liaison between the president and other administrative staff, and works with Board members and external community members to drive strategic partnerships and innovation initiatives.

    Biography
    Anne joined Wesleyan in 2015 as the business career advisor at the Gordon Career Center. Prior to arriving at Wesleyan, Anne was a manager in Information Services and Analytics at Cigna. She has also worked as a senior analyst in the Market Research and Competitive Intelligence division of Independence Blue Cross and as an economic consultant for IHS Global Insight, now IHS Markit. Anne graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Hamilton College with a double major in Mathematics and Economics. She received her MBA from the Yale School of Management.

    Biography
    Lisa Prokop joined the Office of the President in 2008 after working in the Registrar's Office for 12 years. Prior to beginning her career at Wesleyan, she worked at Weekly Reader Corporation for seven years. Lisa graduated from Middlesex Community College in 1989 with an associate's degree in business administration, legal.

    The university editor serves as a resource to the president and senior staff in editing and preparing documents and correspondence as well as advising on issues of strategic importance.

    Biography
    Charles Salas received his BA from UC Berkeley, MA from Wesleyan (history), and PhD in history from the Claremont Graduate University. An intellectual historian with a focus on the cultural and political legacies of the classical period, he has published in a wide variety of areas, including precalculus mathematics, the history of science, the philosophy of history, cultural history, historiography, and the history of art. Prior coming to Wesleyan, he worked at the Getty in Los Angeles where he was head of research and education at the Getty Research Institute.
