Wesleyan’s Transportation Department offers a grocery shuttle to two Middletown grocery stores, Aldi and Price Chopper. This free service operates once a week during the summer: Every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The van leaves from the Usdan University Center to Aldi and Price Chopper and returns.

Van rentals: Various sized vans are available for local and regional travel for staff and student groups and organizations. Both daily and weekly rates are available, making van rental from your in-house service the best value available. Advance reservations are recommended.
Certified Drivers: If you would like the freedom of having one of our trained drivers take care of the wheel, simply ask and we will arrange for one to be available. Great for fieldtrips etc. Advance notice is required to allow time for staff scheduling adjustments. (please call for rates)
New Haven and Meriden Train Stations and Bradley Airport Transfers: Wes Certified Driver transportation to or from New Haven and Meriden Train Stations or Bradley Airport can be arranged if we have a vehicle and driver available for your requested date and time. Reservations need to be made at least 3-5 business days in advance.
2024-2025 Rate Schedule:
Current rates include full service support, full insurance coverage, as well as available Driver Safety Training. Direct departmental billing makes reserving vehicles and drivers easy and convenient. Vehicles are provided clean and ready to go. Unless special arrangements are made, gas is the responsibility of the renting department or agency.

Rental Rates include 150 free miles per day, additional mileage charge of $0.30 per mile will be charged for longer distance travel. Transportation Services is not responsible for any tolls accrued during rental travel.
New Haven Train Station and Bradley Airport transfers: The fee is $80.00 one way.
Meriden Train Station: The fee is $40 one way.
Additional charges will accrue for 3+ passengers and luggage.
Other options available for transportation to or from campus are through Uber/Lyft, local taxi services and local livery services. Taxi and livery service phone numbers can be found online.
