- IMPORTANT MEAL PLAN ANNOUNCEMENTS
THE MEAL PLAN SELECTION MODULE IS BACK IN YOUR E-PORTFOLIO AS OF 6/8/15 TO CHANGE YOUR MEAL PLAN FOR FALL SEMESTER. YOU HAVE UNTIL 9/18/15 TO CHANGE YOUR MEAL PLAN.
The first day to use your meals and declining balance points for the fall semester is September 5, 2015 and for the spring semester it is January 19,2016.
You may change your fall semester meal plan from 9/7/15-9/18/15 and your spring semester meal plan from 12/9/15 - 2/3/16 .The last day to add additional meal plan points and have them billed to your student account is Wednesday, May 4, 2016.
The last day to use both meals and declining balance points is 5/14/16. Unused meals and declining balance points are nonrefundable and cannot be transferred to the new academic year.
- MEAL PLAN INFORMATION
Each semester, all Wesleyan students are required to be on one of the meal plans offered for their class year. The meal plan is covered under the Residential Comprehensive Fee that was charged on the student account.
All Frosh have the option of choosing the Block 210 Meals(203 regular meals and 7 guest meals) with 110 Points, Block 165 Meals (158 regular meals and 7 guest meals) with 302 Points, Block 135 Meals (128 regular meals and 7 guest meals) with 523 Points or for an additional $ 300.00 more per semester the Block 285 Meals (278regular meals and 7 guest meals) with 55 Points. All Sophomores have the option of choosing any of the meal plans mentioned above or the Block 105 Meals (98 regular meals and 7 guest meals)with 745 Points. All Juniors and Seniors have the option of choosing any meal plans mentioned above or as well as the new Block 50 Meals ( 43 regular meals and 7 guest meals) with 1225 Points or the All Declining Balance Plan with no meals attached which contains $ 1629.00 in points for the semester.
Regular and Guest meals may be used for all you-care-to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner during the week or Saturday and Sunday brunch and dinner at the Marketplace at Usdan, as well as weekday lunches and dinners at Summerfields. There are 19 chances to use meals available each week. The meals are per semester. Any unused meals will be forfeited if not used by 12/20/15 for first semester and 5/14/16 for second semester.
Declining Balance Points Information
The total amount of declining balance points that comes with the meal plan is on the WesCard upon arrival on campus and declines as it is used. How the declining balance points are used and how much is used is determined by the individual student. Declining balance points may be used at any dining establishment that is part of the Campus Dining Program, which consists of Chique Chaque, Usdan Cafe, Pi Cafe, Red & Black Cafe, Espwesso Cafe, Star & Crescent, Summerfields, Weshop Convenience Store and WesWings. Unused declining balance points left from first semester will roll over on top of the second semester declining balance points. The last day to use all declining balance points is 5/14/16. Unused points do not transfer from year to year.
- MEAL PLANS OFFERED
First Year students can choose the Block 135 Meal Plan, Block 165 Meal Plan, the Block 210 Meal Plan or the Block 285 Meal Plan.
Sophomores can choose the Block 135 Meal Plan, Block 165 Meal Plan, the Block 210 Meal Plan, the Block 285 Meal Plan or the Block 105 Meal Plan.
Juniors and Seniors can choose from any Block Plan offered above or the new Block 50 Meal plan or choose the All Declining Balance Plan with no meals attached.
Block 135 Meal Plan
This plan offers a total of 135 meals each semester (128 regular and 7 guest) with $523.00 in declining balance points each semester.
Block 165 Meal Plan
This plan offers a total of 165 meals each semester (158 regular and 7 guest) with $302.00 in declining balance points each semester.
Block 210 Meal Plan
This plan offers a total of 210 meals each semester ( 203 regular and 7 guest) with $110.00 in declining balance points per semester.
Block 285 Meal Plan
This plan offers a total of 285 meals per semester (278 regular and 7 guest) with $55.00 in declining balance points per semester. This plan costs an additional $300.00 per semester.
Block 105 Meal Plan - Available for Sophomores, Juinors and Seniors only.
This plan offers a total of 105 meals per semester ( 98 regular and 7 guest) with $ 745.00 in declining balance points per semester.
Block 50 Meal Plan - Available for Juinors and Seniors only.
This plan offers a total of 50 meals per semester ( 43 regular and 7 guest) with $ 1225.00 in declining balance points per semester.
All Declining Balance Available for Juniors and Seniors only.
This plan offers $1629.00 in declining balance points per semester with no meals nor guest meals.
All Frosh are defaulted first semester to the Block 135 Meal Plan, Sophomores are defaulted to the Block 105 Meal Plan, Juniors and Seniors are defaulted to the All Declining Balance Plan unless another choice of a meal plan is made through their e-portfolio.
For the second semester, all students will default to the meal plan they were on at the end of the first semester unless they chose another meal plan through their e-portfolio during the two week change period. Meal plan changes are pro-rated by the number of meals and points used.
Meal plan costs are part of the Residential Comprehensive Fee except the additional cost associated with the Block 285 Meal Plan which costs an additional $300.00 per semester.

The above spreadsheet represents how many meal plan points should be left week by week to get through the semester.
Take the total number of meals and divide by 15 (the approximate number of weeks in a semester) to give the number of meals to use each week so won't run out of meals before semester ends.
50 Meal Plan meal total of 3 is an approximation as it will add up to 45 meals so the other 5 need to be configured into the weeks for usage.
