Fall Declaration for December Completers

If you have taken time away from Wesleyan, or worked with your Class Dean to accelerate your graduation timeline, you may reach your second semester sophomore standing during the fall semester.  If you are on a mid-year cycle, use the guidelines below to declare your major on time.

Declaration Deadline and Timing

· When to Declare: You are eligible to submit your major declaration any time after the fall add/drop period.

· Pre-Registration Preference: Be sure to complete your declaration prior to pre-registration for the following semester. This will help you secure courses open only to those declared in the major.

Action Steps for Fall Declarants

Because department Open Houses typically occur in October and November, you may need to complete your planning before these events take place.

· Consult Department Faculty: Reach out directly to faculty, department chairs, or advising experts in programs you are considering to discuss major requirements and pathway options.

· Meet with your Liberal Arts Advisor or an Academic Peer Advisor: Schedule time to review your transcript and discuss how your remaining semesters align with your academic goals.

· Connect with your Class Dean: Contact your Class Dean if you have questions about your standing, timeline, or acceleration path.
