Mission Statement

Wesleyan Women in Science aims to build a sense of community among women in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, math) and their supporters, and to foster love for the sciences on and off campus. WesWIS provides information about Wesleyan classes, research opportunities, and graduate work, allowing members to form relationships with peers and professionals.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is in charge of planning and coordinating the various activities for Wes Women in Science. Feel free to e-mail any of us for more information about WesWIS, or just about being a Wes student in the sciences.

2025-2026 Steering Committee

Looking to become more involved in the behind-the-scenes work of WesWIS? Consider applying to become part of our Steering Committee!
As a reminder, applications submitted on Friday are part of a preliminary selection round. After we review the written applications, current WesWIS Steering Committee members will be meeting with candidates for an informal interview, tentatively prior to fall break. Once interviews have been completed, newly selected Steering Committee members will begin working with us after fall break.
I highly encourage you all to apply and join our team! We meet biweekly at times that are, ideally, convenient for all of us, and we are a supportive, collaborative group.
Please feel free to reach out to myself or other Steering Committee members (Nadia Alam, Mia Wichman, and Sally Wolff)—or our faculty advisor, Meredith Hughes—if you have any questions or concerns.
