Financial aid for international students (i.e., students who are not US citizens or permanent residents of the US) is extremely limited and is awarded on the basis of both exceptional qualifications and demonstrated need. In addition to the 11 Freeman Asian Scholars, we expect to offer need-based financial assistance to approximately 30 foreign students from a pool of approximately 1000 such applicants. As an international student, in order to receive financial aid during your years at Wesleyan, you MUST apply for financial aid and be eligible at the time that you apply for admission.

For students from the following countries and regions; the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, your application for financial aid must begin with an application for the Freeman Asian Scholars Program.  The Wesleyan Freeman Asian Scholarship Program covers the cost of attendance for a four-year course of study toward a bachelor’s degree for up to eleven exceptionally able Asian students each year.
