About
Evolving out of the Wesleyan University Slide Library, the VRC has adapted to be a digital-first collection servicing the art history program and the Wesleyan community broadly. The space itself is a welcoming environment for studying, small meetings, and image-based research.
The VRC creates digital content from a variety of sources to fill out the institutional collection. Priority is given to images relevant to the pedagogical and publishing needs of Wesleyan faculty, as well as to images that support the research interests of Wesleyan students. These images are captured from original photographic prints, published images, 35mm slides, and many other sources.
Our legacy collection of more than 227,000 35mm slides is also housed in the Boger Hall facility and serves as a valuable reference resource. Copies of the Wesleyan art history honors theses are available for browsing in the VRC, as well as materials and resources related to the history of imaging and art.
