Advising Services

OISA professional staff provide immigration advising services for international students studying at Wesleyan in F-1 and J-1 visa status. We also advise all self-identifying international students on non-immigration aspects of their experience at Wes—such as matters related to cultural adjustment, equity and inclusion, and practical needs like housing—and refer them to campus partners and resources as appropriate.

We are offer the following types of advising services:

Drop-in advising hours are for short consultations that typically last 5-15 minutes. We offer in-person and virtual drop-in advising services each week during the fall and spring semesters. Drop-in advising services are provided on a first come, first served basis. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

*As of the start of the Spring 2023 Semester, Middlesex County, where Middletown and Wesleyan are located, is experiencing high levels of COVID-19 transmission. As a result, Wesleyan's health leaders are recommending students, staff, and faculty wear facial coverings while indoors. We recommend that you bring a mask if you come to OISA for in-person advising services and wear it to protect yourself and others. You may also always request that an OISA professional staff member wear a facial covering if you come to our office for in-person advising support. More information about Wesleyan's COVID-19 protocols and resources can be found on the Keep Wes Safe website.
