Journal access for alumni

[Olin Library]

Access journals now (login required)

University Relations has partnered with the Wesleyan Library to enable access to JSTOR Archive Journals through Wesconnect for all Wesleyan alumni. The Library’s portion of the funding is made possible through the Pauli Endowment. Combined with Wesleyan’s subscription to Project Muse, alumni can now access a wide range of journals in the humanities and social sciences.

Subscribed databases

Wesleyan’s JSTOR subscription provides access to journal archives and selected primary sources. This means access to the archival content of most journals, though current articles and e-books are not included.

Through Project Muse alumni can access academic journals in the humanities and social sciences. Wesleyan’s subscription provides access to all Project Muse journals (books are not included).

You can access journals immediately on the Wesconnect Library Resources page (login required), or sign up for Wesconnect if you haven’t registered your account yet.

Register & Read

JSTOR also provides a service called Register & Read which offers free, read-online access to individual scholars and researchers who register for a MyJSTOR account. Registered members have access to recent articles from around 1,200 journals. More information is available at the Register & Read FAQ page.

Open Access Journals

Alumni may also find the not-for-profit Directory of Open Access Journals to be useful in some cases.

On campus

Alumni spending time in Middletown can apply for a library card at no charge. Initial applications must be made in person at Olin Library. Library privileges allow alumni to borrow materials from any of Wesleyan’s library collections. Call (860) 685-2660 for more information.
