Events

The Chemistry Department hosts a variety of academic events that contribute to the intellectual life of the department. During the academic year, a colloquium is held each week on Friday afternoons, featuring invited speakers from both academia and industry who present their research to students and faculty. A separate weekly seminar series provides a forum for graduate students to present literature topics and updates on their research.

The department has also hosted the Peter A. Leermakers Symposium, a major event that has drawn researchers from across the country and around the world. While the symposium has not been held since 2012, it remains a significant part of the department’s history.
