Major Maintenance

Major maintenance funding is available to up-grade and maintain all buildings at current, competitive standards.  The dollars can be spent on code and safety issues, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, exterior and structural shortcomings, cosmetics, and immediate landscape issues.  The dollars are not to be spent to alter buildings, change program, or to renovate.  In general dollars should extend the life of whatever is being corrected for the cycle of life designated for the building (typically 10 years).

In early May 2017, Wesleyan completed its first Building Sustainability Policy, which outlines requirements and ideas for integrating sustainability into building projects in the areas of energy, materials and furnishings, and water use.  A focus of this plan is addressing Wesleyan's carbon footprint.
