SASN/What is SASN?
- Student-Athlete Support Network: A training designed to equip students with the skills and information they need to be able to respond effectively when their friends and teammates are struggling.
- SASN is normally scheduled once per season for athletes wanting to be trained in these skills. Students find that it helps them better navigate team dynamics and complexities that may arise when in-season.
- Topics include:
- Active Listening and support skills
- Recognizing and responding to signs of depression and anxiety including suicidal thoughts
- Substance use and abuse
- Body Image and Disordered Eating
- Navigating and connecting with appropriate student resources
