Community Matchbox
The Community Matchbox is a pilot project to help the greater Middletown community and Wesleyan University share resources and make connections.
You can use Community Matchbox to request something or to share something (information, volunteer help, mentorship, advice, expertise, opportunities, and more). We aim to create connections between Wesleyan and the community. We look forward to helping you make a connection!
Matchbox Requests
The main Community Matchbox form can be used for all requests and for sharing your expertise or resources. The Matchbox team meets regularly to review requests. If your request matches one of the specific needs listed below, you may fill that form instead to offer more detail.
- Request assistance with community event marketing via the ENGAGE newsletter.
- Borrow Wesleyan's Wishing Well water station to have water access at an outdoor event.
- If you are looking to hire Wesleyan students for paid or unpaid positions, potential employers can create a Handshake account (this is the platform Wesleyan uses for all student paid and unpaid opportunities and where students know to look for jobs) and submit your postings to “Wesleyan University.” Visit Wesleyan's employers webpage for more resources, including a page on how to use Handshake to hire. If you have any questions, you can email Tess Hamilton-Ward, Assistant Director for Employer Relations, at thamiltonwar@wesleyan.edu.
Matchbox Partner Directory
We are developing the second phase of Community Matchbox, an online directory that aims to help campus and community individuals and organizations find partners interested in connecting and sharing resources. We are looking for community partners, Wesleyan student organizations, and Wesleyan faculty and staff who would like to be part of these directories by sharing their contact information and interest areas. Please use the applicable form below. To see a mockup of the directory, email jkleindienst@wesleyan.edu.
