HOMETOWN:
|
Newton, MA |
HIGH SCHOOL:
|
Newton South |
MAJOR:
|
English,
Music |
THESIS:
|
I'm planning on doing an opera based on William Steig's "Rotten Island." The orchestration will probably be unconventional...right now I'm thinking five guitars, pipe organ, a regular choir, and a children's choir, and a string quartet. |
ACTIVITIES:
|
I'm a member of
the
Wesleyan Sound Co-Op, which
does live music for various
events around campus. I'm also a
Writing Tutor, and this past
year I was the tutor for a music
class I also play pipe organ,
gamelan, and synthesizer in
my own band and sometimes for
others. |
OUTSIDE
WESLEYAN:
|
I run a small online record label called Amazing Wow, which is time consuming but a lot of fun. I like to compose music, write for online and print publications, when I can, and do some social network consulting for music vendors. I've got two chocolate labs that are surprisingly cuddly for their size. |
AFTER
WESLEYAN:
|
It's pretty up in the air, but I'm interested in going to Indonesia to play gamelan, or maybe spending time writing journalism features in a city. |
FAV WES EXPERIENCE:
|
The best part so far has been learning how to play the pipe organ and realizing how loud and complicated an instrument it is! |
