I served as

The
Wesleyan Argus in the fall
of 2008 as a junior and then
studied abroad on an SIT program
in Durban, South Africa for my
spring semester. During my
sophomore year, I worked as
Features Editor for The Argus
and as a senior I am now an
Executive Director. I took
flute lessons and played in the
Wesleyan Wind Ensemble my
freshman and sophomore years. I
also
tutored
at Woodrow Wilson
Middle School in Middletown for
two years as well.
Additionally, I worked in the
admissions office as a tour
guide for three semesters. |
OUTSIDE
WESLEYAN:
|
After my freshman year, I worked as a counselor at an arts campus in Dover, MA, called Charles River Creative Arts Program, where I ran a daily newspaper for kids between the ages of 8 and 15. The following summer I taught eighth grade Math and Spanish in Atlanta, GA though Breakthrough Collaborative. This past summer, I worked as a receptionist in a law firm in Boston in June and then interned at a racial justice think tank in New York City in July. |
AFTER
WESLEYAN:
|
I hope to participate in a service or teaching program, such as Teach for America or City Year. |
FAV WES EXPERIENCE:
|
My sophomore year, my RA in 202 Washington Street was really enthusiastic about Halloween, so our entire house helped plan an elaborate haunted house. We set up a scene for each room in the house - such as fake executive/guillotine room - and everyone performed their scene for three straight hours, as kids from Middletown and Wesleyan walked through. It was one of the craziest and most collaborative experiences I've had at Wes. |
