This exhibition runs Tuesday, April 3, 2007 through Sunday, May 6, 2007

Miracle of Moment Tanahashi

Kazuaki Tanahashi has exhibited his Zen calligraphy world-wide. His striking yet subtle calligraphic creations are grounded in his experience of Zen teaching. He writes, "To me the essence of the brush creative process is mindfulness...the brush helps you to cultivate a meditative state of mind.' Mr. Tanahashi's emphasis on mindfulness, healing, breath and breakthrough give these apparently simple works great depth and resonance. Mr. Tanhashi will be in residence at Wesleyan for the first weekend of the exhibition.

Kazuaki Tanahashi's residency at Wesleyan is co-sponsored by the Mansfield Freeman Center for East Asian Studies, the Freeman Asian/Asian American Initiative, and a grant from the Edward D. Snowdon Fund.
