Retiree Life Insurance

Basic, supplemental, spouse/partner and dependent life insurance coverage terminates when Wesleyan employment ends unless the participant is eligible for benefits under the long term disability plan or is an early retiree.  For a participant on long term disability or an early retiree, these coverages will continue until age
65 (age 68 for faculty).

When an early retiree turns age 65, he/she is eligible for Retiree Life Insurance.  Also, employees who have completed 10 years of continuous service and retire at
age 65 (age 68 for faculty) or later are also eligible for Retiree Life Insurance. This benefit provides $5,000 of life insurance and the premium is paid in full by Wesleyan.
