HIGH SCHOOL:
|
Francis W.
Parker Charter Essential School |
MAJOR:

ACTIVITIES:
|
I conduct
research in a lab focused on
neurogensis in songbirds.
Additionally, I am captain of
the
Cross Country team and also
run
Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field.
I am also a peer reviewer for
Mind Matters, the Wesleyan
journal of psychology and
neuroscience. I have also been a
tour guide and a
WesFest intern, and during
junior year was involved in plan
ecology and climate change
research. |
OUTSIDE
WESLEYAN:
|
I am an adult
leader for my hometown Boy Scout
troop. For the summer '09, I was
a
Hughes Fellow at Wesleyan.
In previous summers, I conducted
climate change research at the
Boston Area Climate Experiment
in Waltham, MA and was involved
in community outreach for the
developmentally disabled
individuals in Fitchburg, MA. |
AFTER
WESLEYAN:
|
After graduating from
Wesleyan's 5th year BA/MA
program in Neuroscience, I
anticipate participating in a
program (e.x. Peace Corps,
Americorps) that will allow me
to both travel and conduct
medically relevant work prior to
applying to medical school. |
FAV WES EXPERIENCE:
|
In December of my freshman year,
several friends and I
participated in a caroling
caravan consisting of school
busses, fire trucks, ambulances,
and cars. The caravan made its
way around Middletown and the
surrounding areas to homes of
terminally ill patients and/or
impoverished families. We got
out and sang Christmas carols.
It was very rewarding and
demonstrated to me that
Wesleyan is part of the larger
community. |
