Announcements & Events!

Wesleyan Counseling and Psychological Services condemns the acts of domestic terrorism in the US Capitol and other locations throughout our country.  We acknowledge the inherent racism in the differential response of law enforcement and government officials to those inciting and perpetrating these terrorist acts and the nonviolent activists who have participated in Black Lives Matter protests calling for a just and equal society.  We recognize the devastating emotional impact of witnessing violence, terrorism, and racist acts even if they take place at a physical distance.

Even though most students have left campus and members of our community are less connected over this long winter break, the CAPS on-call service is available 24/7 for any student in distress who needs to speak with a clinician.  Please call us at 860.685.2910 anytime for support.  All of the clinicians at CAPS wish our entire university community peace and hope during this terrible time.

In Solidarity,

All the CAPS clinicians

The staff at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) joins President Roth, VP for E&I Alison Williams, the Cabinet, and the entire Wesleyan community in expressing our anger and grief for all who are impacted by the widespread racial violence in our nation.  These horrific events reflect a longstanding, entrenched history of structural and systemic oppression of Black and African American people.  We stand with our Wesleyan community against the racial violence that is woven into the very fabric of our nation’s history.  We re-commit ourselves to work harder and do better as we seek justice, safety, and peace for Black and African American people.
Black Lives Matter.
Even though we are separated by distance and the end of the academic year, the CAPS on-call clinician is available all summer and can be reached by calling 860.685.2910.  Please visit CAPS at Home for supportive resources.
In Solidarity,
The Team at CAPS

Welcome to Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)!

CAPS provides comprehensive short-term mental health services through multidisciplinary integration with Davison Health Center and WesWell. Students who utilize our psychotherapy services may discuss in confidence any worries, distressing feelings, or difficult situations they are currently experiencing. Our goal is to assist students as they navigate through life's challenges within the context of a highly rigorous and demanding academic environment.

On this site you will find valuable resources for students, faculty and staff, including information on how to schedule an appointment with a counselor, how to get help in an emergency, and useful resources on various mental health topics.
