Salsa Practice Parties (age 18 and up)

Tune up your moves or find a practice partner at Green Street’s new Salsa
practice parties. Teaching artist David Polon spins some of the hottest
Salsa tunes and brings you the latest moves from the dance floor.
Parties are not limited to former Green Street students—everyone is welcome.

In the Limelight Series: Red Hot Blues & Jazz
Goose Lane

Goose Lane was founded in 1997 by drummer Dave Parmelee and
guitarist/composer Chris Cretella; two self-confessed metal-heads with a
growing interest in improvisation, jazz and experimental music of all
stripes. Known locally as the “house jazz band” for Rudy’s, an old standby
for New Haven music fans, they’ve built a reputation for taking creative
license with stalwart favorites, most notably their annual “Nutcracker
Suite.”
Goose Lane is: Chris Cretella (guitar/composition/arranging),
Dave Parmelee (drums), Steve Asetta (saxophones/clarinets),
Michael Paolucci (drums), Keith Yarborough (tuba) and Justin Edwards
(trombone).

Culturekids Family Series
Get Happy: Vocal and Big Band Sing-Along
SATURDAY, March 29, 1–2pm
Free admission
Teaching artist Gwen Pond and friends lead a family-style sing-along to the
music of Harold Arlen. Arlen penned such favorites as “Over the Rainbow” and
other songs from The Wizard of Oz.

Get a taste of what we’ll be offering all season long at Free Art Day—meet
our teaching artists, try a workshop, or tour our beautiful sound recording,
performance and visual arts studios.
