Location
Bangalore Life Science Cluster (BLiSC) is a unique hub of interdisciplinary biological research in India, which provides on-campus housing and food in addition to oustanding science research opportunity. Students will be matched with mentors from Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem).
Research
Research areas include biochemistry, biophysics, bioinformatics, neurobiology, cellular organization and signaling, genetics and development, theory and modeling of biological systems, ecology and evolution, stem cells, regenerative biology, technology development and biotech entrepreneurship, and genetics and genomics to aid human health an agriculture.

South Asia Research Opportunity Summer Program

Students selected as South Asia Fellows must be academically interested in studying in South Asia and willing to commit to the entire Research in South Asia program, including working full time for 10 weeks. Students are eligible to appy when in their sophomore or junior year at the time of application. A selection committee scores applications to evaluate the depth of scientific knowledge and interest in performing research in South Asia. We anticipate selecting three South Asia Fellows.

The application package must include:

A short essay describing your research interests, any previous experience, and how a summer research experience in India relates to your academic and professional goals (500 words)
- The names of potential mentors at BLiSC or list areas of research interests

A copy of your Academic History (unofficial transcript)
- The names and email addresses for two references, at least one of which is a Wesleyan faculty member
- Your citizenship and passport details
Admissions are managed by the College of Integrative Sciences.

- Travel
Travel to and from India will be arranged by the student through Sanditz Travel. Up to $2000 will be covered by the SARO program. Students will be provided with information and instructions upon acceptance to the program.
Students will be required to have a student exchange visa. CIS will coordinate with the office of study abroad and InStem to assist students with this process. You will be required to provide a current CV and potentially additional details when selected as a South Asia fellow.
- Housing
Housing, orientation, emergency services, and additional activities will be arranged and students will pay from their fellowship. Canteens are available for meals on campus.
