    Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)

NSF funds a large number of research opportunities for undergraduate students through its REU Sites program. An REU Site consists of a group of ten or so undergraduates who work in the research programs of the host institution. Each student is associated with a specific research project, where he/she works closely with the faculty and other researchers. Students are granted stipends and, in many cases, assistance with housing and travel. Undergraduate students supported with NSF funds must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or its possessions. An REU Site may be at either a US or foreign location. Read more about this program here.

    Dear Colleagues,
We'd greatly appreciate you sharing the following information with your undergraduate student networks.

    ---------

    Graduate Ph.D. Preview Program: October 23-24, 2025
    Application deadline: August 8, 2025

We are now accepting applications for our annual PhD Preview Program!

Approximately six highly qualified prospective graduate students will be invited to Ann Arbor for an all-expense-paid trip to experience the Biophysics Program at the University of Michigan. Highly motivated students are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students from low-income homes, students who are first-generation college students or students whose backgrounds are underrepresented in Academia.

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents, and must plan on starting graduate school in the fall of 2026.

Throughout the Preview days, students will have the opportunity to network with faculty and students in Michigan's Biophysics PhD program; getting a first-hand look at what it's like to be a graduate student and member of a thriving and diverse scientific community.
Click here for more information and to apply. Applications are due August 8, 2025.

The Biophysics Program at the University of Michigan is one of the few standalone biophysics programs in the US, created to foster multidisciplinary research and provide interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate education. Biophysics at University of Michigan has a long tradition of interdisciplinary research, which positions us ideally to provide this kind of experience to undergraduate students from around the country. Since Biophysics is extremely intellectually diverse, our aim is not only to provide research experience in a subfield of the discipline, but to also provide an overview of state-of-the-art research in the field, and the experimental methods and techniques that are commonly used.

    Dear Ms. Dane,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Jojo, and I’m a student at the University of Pennsylvania. I’m reaching out on behalf of the National Research Conference at Penn (NRCP). We are a student-run, two-day research conference taking place on October 10–11, 2025, at the University of Pennsylvania.

NRCP provides a multidisciplinary platform for undergraduate researchers from across the country to showcase their work through poster presentations and a grant proposal competition. The conference also features keynote speakers and networking sessions aimed at fostering academic and professional growth.

We would be grateful if you could help us promote the event by sharing our materials within your network. Please find the flyer attached, and feel free to forward the links below:

Thank you so much for your support. We appreciate your help in making this year’s conference a success!

    Best,
Jojo Zhu & The NRCP Team
