I am writing to share an exciting opportunity for your students: Empower Through Health's 2026 Global Health Experiential Fellowship (GHEF), a five-week, in-person global health research and fieldwork program in rural Uganda, with two summer cohorts (May 25-June 24, 2026 and July 6-August 5, 2026). Based on prior cohorts, we expect that most fellows will have the opportunity to contribute to manuscripts that progress toward peer-reviewed publication; authorship is determined by ICMJE criteria.

    Hosted by
Empower Through Health (ETH), a U.S.- and Uganda-based organization with long-term in-country partnerships and established research infrastructure, GHEF brings together students from U.S. and Ugandan universities to collaborate on community-engaged global health research under the research mentorship of Dr. Robert Rosenheck (Yale School of Medicine) and Dr. Yang Jae Lee (University of Washington). Since 2021, 200+ students have participated. The program has also been evaluated in a peer-reviewed publication in SSM-Mental Health. Examples of past publications are available on our website.

We would be grateful if you could share this opportunity with your students, and we also welcome conversations about potential institutional collaboration. For convenience, below is a short announcement you may copy and paste into your newsletter or listserv:

    Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)

NSF funds a large number of research opportunities for undergraduate students through its REU Sites program. An REU Site consists of a group of ten or so undergraduates who work in the research programs of the host institution. Each student is associated with a specific research project, where he/she works closely with the faculty and other researchers. Students are granted stipends and, in many cases, assistance with housing and travel. Undergraduate students supported with NSF funds must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or its possessions. An REU Site may be at either a US or foreign location. Read more about this program here.

    Dear all,

we are contacting you since our two states, Connecticut and Baden-Württemberg (Germany), have a program to encourage academic exchange. Tübingen's Faculty of Medicine offers an international Master's Program MSc. in Population-Based Medicine (courses are completely taught in English) – the next intake will be in the winter semester of 2026, application deadline is 15th April 2026.

We are hoping to get the word out to students or recent graduates who might be interested in doing a master's degree in Germany. Germany is a great place for international students, with well-ranked universities, low-cost tuition, and ease of travel. The University of Tübingen was founded in 1477 in the picturesque city of Tübingen in southwest Germany.

We will be hosting a zoom information event on 21st January 2026 presenting the program in more detail and answering any questions of interested students. Please forward the info below along if you think your members (or former members/recent graduates) would be interested. Population-Based Medicine has a strong focus on public health, epidemiology and research methods and might be especially interesting for those who have studied healthcare-related sciences.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, you can find my contact details at the end of the email.

    Best regards

The Biophysics Program at the University of Michigan is one of the few standalone biophysics programs in the US, created to foster multidisciplinary research and provide interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate education. Biophysics at University of Michigan has a long tradition of interdisciplinary research, which positions us ideally to provide this kind of experience to undergraduate students from around the country. Since Biophysics is extremely intellectually diverse, our aim is not only to provide research experience in a subfield of the discipline, but to also provide an overview of state-of-the-art research in the field, and the experimental methods and techniques that are commonly used.
