Theme 1. Promote internationalized student learning through the curriculum

The goals we have currently identified as parts of this internationalization theme are listed below. For details on specific activities connected to each goal that have been completed, are underway, or are planned, please see this theme's section of the Internationalization Dashboard (below).

• 1.1 Establish University-wide procedures for measuring internationalization of the curriculum
  • Consider designing courseleaf-embedded tool for ranking courses on degree of internationalization (regions, languages involved) that takes into consideration both form and content, as well as the limits of certain disciplines (NSM); possible AI agent to bear workload
• 1.2 Promote the international diversity of our curriculum, such as through curriculum development incentives and faculty development and recruitment strategies
  • Encourage curricular internationalization (like abroad opportunities) through broadening interests of faculty, and subsequently, students (like offering intro to South Asian studies for faculty)
  • Addition of pedagogy grants for adding internationalized content, similar to the decolonization seminars
• 1.3 Explore and pursue ways to increase opportunities for course-embedded, short-term study abroad opportunities with equitable access for any interested student
  • Source indefinite funding to support course-embedded, short-term study abroad
  • Continue sourcing contingent funding for one-off course-embedded, short-term study abroad
• 1.4 Develop frameworks for departments to increase international awareness and global engagement among their students
  • Work with departments to make ready resources for relevant student opportunities, such as curating list of topical study abroad programs and fellowships
