In his very Keret way he ends up with a series of very short stories, snapshots that are mostly a few paragraphs long, that give glimpses of her heroic life from childhood at the Warsaw Ghetto to raising a Sabra family in Israel. Etgar Keret will read a story in his own voice and share his thoughts about the current situation in Israel.

At Wes, her studies in neuroscience and public health (as a neuroscience and SiSP major), her work as an EMT on a local ambulance service, her experience co-founding and running a harm reduction non-profit in Middletown, exposed her to the many ways that healthcare systems fail to serve the most vulnerable and disenfranchised members of our society leaving their pain untreated or mismanaged. As a Watson Fellow, Livia visited and worked in specialized pain clinics, low-resource birthing centers, drug consumption rooms, Buddhist monasteries and traditional and indigenous medicine settings to elucidate the ways and circumstances in which pain is managed, fought, accepted – and even surrendered to or celebrated. Livia currently resides in New Haven, Connecticut, where she is pursuing her master’s of public health at Yale University.
