Wesleyan GPA calculation
The chart below is not a standard grading scale to be used to evaluate coursework; students should confirm a course's evaluation criteria with their professor. This chart is only intended for conversion of a letter grade to numeric value and is used for the GPA calculation.
The Wesleyan GPA is the sum of the grade point values divided by the sum of earned credits. The grade point value for each course is derived by multiplying the numeric grade equivalency by the earned credits. Courses which have earned zero credits are not part of this equation. To calculate a true 4.0 or 4.3 GPA use the chart below. Find the 4.0 or 4.3 GPA equivalent numeric value of the letter grade. Multiply this by the credit value of the class. This is the grade point value for the class. Sum the grade point values and divide this number by the sum of the credits and this will produce your 4.0 grade point average.
